I’m Keegan Rogers
I am a counselling psychologist, who completed my Undegraduate in Sports Psychology and Honours in Psychology at the University of Johannesburg.
I completed my Masters in Counselling Psychology at Fort Hare University.
I completed my Internship at PsyCaD (Psychological Services and Career Development) at the University of Johannesburg.
My Theoretical Approach:
I believe in adapting the needs of therapy to the individual’s, couples or group’s need.
I work from an integrative, post-modern paradigm.
My therapeutic conceptualisation is predominantly based on the below therapies:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
– Child and Play Therapy
– Anxiety and Depression
– Sport and Performance Psychology
When to consider therapy
The decision to go for therapy can be a daunting one at first. People decide to attend therapy for many different reasons. Some reasons people attend therapy are:
Feelings of sadness & helplessness
Difficulties in concentrating / functioning
Experiencing excessive anxiety & depression
Difficulties in relationships
Substance related challenges
Work related stressors
What to expect
The first step is often one of the most difficult steps to take, which is making an appointment with the therapist.
Once doing that, the therapist will confirm the appointment time and date as well as the location for the session.
You will be required to complete the necessary forms and consent forms before the process begins.
The initial session will take place, where an assessment will be conducted by the therapist who will then advise on the process and on follow up appointments.
